World Leaders Unite Global Partnership Invitation Echoes at GPAI Summit PM Modi Invites Global Collaboration at GPAI Summit In a compelling call to the global tech community, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended an invitation to the upcoming Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit 2023, affirming India’s pivotal role in the evolution of artificial intelligence (AI). In a LinkedIn post, Modi emphasized the transformative impact of AI across diverse sectors, including technology, innovation, healthcare, education, and agriculture.

Acknowledging the rapid advancements in AI applications, Modi expressed his optimism about the technology’s vast potential in the hands of the younger generation. Describing India as one of the youngest nations with a vibrant start-up ecosystem and a talented workforce, Modi highlighted the country’s readiness to actively contribute to the global evolution of AI.

“India offers solutions that are scalable, secure, affordable, sustainable, and replicable on a global scale. India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiative is a prime example of such pioneering efforts,” Modi noted.

Reflecting on India’s technological leap over the past decade, Modi underscored the nation’s achievements in mobile penetration, internet connectivity, and scalable models for digital inclusion. He outlined how AI is becoming a powerful tool in empowering citizens, whether it’s delivering services in local languages, enhancing personalized education, making healthcare more accessible, or providing informed solutions in agriculture.

Modi emphasized India’s commitment to ensuring equitable and inclusive growth, leveraging innovation to leave no one behind. He highlighted the significance of forums like GPAI, of which India is a co-founder, bringing together 28 member countries and the EU to guide responsible AI development.

Since its inception in June 2020, India has actively contributed to GPAI initiatives, focusing on the development, deployment, and adoption of open, safe, secure, and accountable AI. Modi highlighted India’s election to GPAI’s council in November 2022 as a testament to its dedication to safe and trusted AI practices.

As the Lead Chair of GPAI, Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to harnessing AI for the welfare of people, ensuring that nations in the Global South are not left behind in benefiting from AI advancements. He expressed dedication to establishing a regulatory framework for Safe and Trusted AI, uniting nations for widespread and enduring implementation.

The GPAI Summit, chaired by India, promises engaging sessions, including the AI Expo featuring 150 startups showcasing their strengths. Modi’s call for global collaboration positions India as a proactive player in the responsible and inclusive development of artificial intelligence on the world stage.
