With North India experiencing severe cold wave conditions, KARAM undertook a winter protection initiative to support municipal frontline workers. As part of this effort, more than 38,000 pairs of safety gloves were distributed to workers involved in outdoor civic services, helping them remain safe and protected while performing essential duties.
The initiative covered several cities across North India, with Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand being key focus areas due to the intensity of winter conditions. The program underscored the need for seasonal safety measures for workers exposed to harsh environments.
Ms. Kavita Nigam, Chief Human Resources Officer at KARAM Safety, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the company’s belief that safety is a shared responsibility. She stated that the program was motivated by concern for the well-being and dignity of frontline workers.
In Lucknow, the distribution drive was conducted in association with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation and attended by Mayor Ms. Sushma Kharkwal. In Sitarganj, Uttarakhand, the Nagar Palika facilitated the distribution under the guidance of Executive Officer Ms. Pratibha Kohli.
Through this initiative, KARAM reaffirmed its dedication to worker safety and community support during times of extreme weather.
